R.I.P. to the Mediums
It's with sadness and appreciation that we announce the end of the Killer Mediums podcast. The show was great, and I love all the episodes to death. But the format- reading, watching, listening to, or playing, multiple subjects for each episode, has proved to be unsustainable.
A thousand thanks to each guest and listener who shared their time with us. I'm keeping the old episodes active, to preserve what we made. I think these episodes will age well, and hopefully many of the subjects and works which we covered will prove to be timeless.
For my part, we're not done podcasting. A new show will be unearthed in 2025, so hopefully the friendships fostered through Killer Mediums can continue to blossom. But more on that when the time is right. For now, thank you so much for the support and we'll see (hear?) you again soon.
Full Disclosure on How We Fill Our Episodes:
I am perpetually overwhelmed. It's fun. So in order to make sure that I can balance my own writing with my own reading "for fun" I very rarely put out "open calls."
If you have a new book/movie/game that you are looking to promote, please feel free to email an episode pitch to me. It's rare that I'll be able to work things out, but I promise to at least give your pitch serious consideration.
Things that will help your pitch:
- I request at least three months lead-time before the episode would be recorded
- Build a relationship with me on socials before you pitch. I'm on Twitter and Instagram frequently. Come interact with me! Generally speaking, I prefer working with people who I know over people whose first message to me is asking for a favor.
- Have a clear, unique idea for your episode when you pitch. Let me know what theme we would cover. Let me know what your comparison pieces would be. Avoid pitching episodes with themes that we've already covered.
